Dis-Chem, one of South Africa’s largest retail pharmacy chains continues to innovate in its drive to provide its consumer with a full in-store experience service. In 2021, Dis-Chem’s expansion into the baby market through the acquisition of the popular Baby City chain resulted in three additional Baby City Stores and the establishment of mom and baby clinics within all Baby City stores. These clinics now offer specialised mom and baby health care programmes such as immunisation and expert advice in-store.
Of course, a directional change of this significance needed to be reflected in Baby City’s brand look and feel and the team has been working on the details behind the scenes for months. So, it was with great excitement that Dis-Chem Baby City’s new logo was finally unveiled to a select audience of top media and key Dis-Chem and Baby City stakeholders this April, at a private ceremony hosted at the 2022 MamaMagic Baby Expo at Gallagher Convention Centre.

The alignment of Dis-Chem’s pharmacy offerings with the baby products sector has enabled Baby City’s sponsorship to include an even wider range of products and services at the pop-up Dis-Chem Baby City store at MamaMagic Baby Expo. Here, visitors will find a wide range of exhibitors from clothing, travel systems and baby monitors to breast pumps as well as a fully-operational Baby Clinic as an added benefit.
